Course description:  HVAC/R is a course that will introduce students to the basic entry-level skills and knowledge related to residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Topics covered include tools and equipment, safety, and hazards unique to the HVAC/R industry, physics principles, mechanical refrigeration cycle, and installation and servicing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning system.

Students taking this course will be eligible to take the EPA proper refrigeration usage and handling examination. This is the certification needed to gain employment in the HVAC/R industry. This examination is graded by Esco-group and is good for life there is a $25.00 fee to take this exam .this exam is for students who want to work in the HVAC/R industry.This is not a requirement to take the course.
