September 11, 2001, A day where from the rubble of the World Trade Center rises many cries of anguish, struggles, and the hesitant worries of what lies ahead.
Four days after two hijacked planes slammed into both towers of the World Trade Center, the Statue Of Liberty rose up in front of a smoke-filled Manhattan skyline. President Bush angry over the situation ordered troops to get ready for war. He braced American for a long, difficult assault against terrorists to avenge the deadliest attack on the nation.
People struggled with thoughts of knowing that this was the start of a war, that Freedom would still ring. The nation was still attending prayers services and watching news broadcasts from the National Cathedral weeks after the attack.
Looking back not knowing what lied ahead was nerve racking. Children did not know when they left for school if it would be the last time the would see their parents. A simple hug was not enough when going to bed. This tragic day brought families closer. The TV was not on for pleasure, it was on to watch the perfect world they live in, unfold and try to sort out the horrible crime against humanity.
Seeing this eventful day take place was a living nightmare. So, go and hold your parents a little closer tonight and tell them you love them. Hug the ones you love as if it would be the last time you touch. Go buy an American flag and fly it proudly as if the tragic events had just taken place, again. Also, say a prayer for all those touched by the tragedy. Remember that nothing is certain, everything is in God's hands, so live today- right now!
