Welcome!

Hello! My name is Katelyn Wilson. This will be my 4th year as a teacher and my 3rd year at LHS. A little background information on me: Both my BA and MA are from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I also just finished a certificate program at UTK for teaching ASL, American Sign Language, as a world language. My goal is to start an ASL program at LHS so students will have the choice of either Spanish or ASL as their world language credit, if they want to attend college after high school or just as a fun class.

I am very passionate about teaching and making sure all my students succeed, not only in my class, but in all of their classes. One of my biggest motto's is: Practice Makes Progress, Not Perfect. I believe in focusing on the progress that each student makes, no matter how small it may seem because it does make a huge impact.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy tending to my succulent collection, playing with my animals, and watching Netflix. I also love Star Wars! I am engaged and will be getting married in October 2022! In college, I was a part of the Ballroom Dance Club where I competed in competitions with other college students. I also was in band from middle school through high school and played the alto and tenor saxophone.
