📚🐾 Our second graders are loving Skills time this week! They’ve been giggling and gasping as they read about a clever cat who sneakily steals his owner’s food in the most creative ways. Nothing beats the joy of watching young readers fall in love with a good book and a mischievous feline! 😸🍽️. #digintolearning #secondgraderocks

First grade has been rocking it this week! We’ve blended sounds, built word chains, and practiced spelling new words. Our good choices earned us lots of POP tickets. Some friends had the special job of being “the teacher” and got to help make words with the class. We’ve acted out stories to retell them. Some classes even got to enjoy eating lunch outside! ☀️🍎 It’s been a week full of learning, fun, and teamwork! 💙📚

This week in 1st grade, we read a story about a wolf who tried to disguise himself as a sheep. 🐑🐺 The wolf learned an important lesson—things don’t always go our way when we pretend to be something we’re not.

To bring the story to life, our class made wolf hats today! The kids had a blast putting on their creations and stepping into the story. It was such a fun way to connect reading, creativity, and a meaningful lesson about being true to ourselves. ❤️

What a busy week we’ve had in 1st grade! Our readers practiced partner reading and worked hard on blending, segmenting, and sounding out words. In math, we’ve been learning all about addition and subtraction, and our classes are getting so good at solving problems. We had a few more teeth lost this week—the Tooth Fairy has been extra busy! And to top it all off, we even caught a butterfly at recess, which was such an exciting surprise. It’s been a wonderful week of learning and fun! 💛🦋

Week 2 in Second Grade! 🎒📚 We dove into reading and math this week and have been working hard every day! Rainy weather brought our first indoor recess, but that didn’t slow us down. We even had a lesson on bus safety today. A huge thank you to Loudon County Schools Transportation for coming to talk to our students. Great things are happening in second grade at LES! ➕📚🚌 #digintolearning #secondgraderocks

We’ve had such a busy and exciting time in 1st grade! 📚✨ We’ve been reviewing our letters and letter sounds, practicing our math skills, enjoying special guest readers, and even acting out some of our favorite stories! 🎭 We’ve celebrated a few wiggly (and missing!) teeth 😁, and when the weather kept us inside, we made the most of our indoor recess. 🌧️ Every day is an adventure in learning, laughing, and growing together! ❤️🍎
