Happy birthday to Mrs. Conway! We thank Mrs. Conway for her incredible dedication to LHS. She is a major asset to our school, and a great advocate for our students. In addition, she is the Teacher of the Month and Teacher of the Year for Loudon High School. We wish you a happy birthday, Mrs. Conway!

Loudon High will be hosting several TN Promise events on Thursday, November 20. First, our TN Promise Meeting is Thursday morning at 8:30. Seniors are expected to check in with their 1st block teacher then report with their phones to the auditorium for the meeting. They will be texted a link or QR code to check in for the meeting, and they must be in attendance for the entire 30 minutes of the meeting. They should all be back in class by 9:10. Dual enrollment students who have class at that time, please see Mrs. Waldron for an alternative meeting. All other seniors need to attend this meeting. Additionally, one of our talented seniors has organized a community service fair during skinny that day. All juniors and seniors attend. TN Promise has redone their community service hour requirement so that students can start earning hours in the junior year of high school. Lastly, we are hosting a Financial Aid workshop that afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 to assist families in completing the FAFSA. We will have several reps here to help families finish up the financial aid aspects of the TN Promise requirements. This is especially important for our early grads. (They must complete two FAFSAs and their 16 hours of community service by January 12 if they plan to begin college in the spring).

This week we congratulate Abigail L. as the Northwester Mutual Player of the Week presented by Brandon Millard. She is an outstanding cheerleader and always willing to put in the hard work in practice and in the classroom. She is another excellent leader when it comes to showing the younger girls how to perform as a squad. Congratulations Abigail!

We are a week behind in congratulating Julian D for being chosen as last week's Northwestern Mutual Player of the Week presented by Brandon Millard. Julian is the biggest encourager on the team. When there isn't a scheduled practice on weekends or overbreak, he'll organize group runs to keep his teammates accountable and conditioned. He has shaved off 4 minutes from his 5K time since last year. Congratulations Julian!

We would like to congratulate our Teachers of the Year. Dr. Justin Crowe was selected as Loudon High School Novice Teacher of the year. He invests in the lives of his students. He seeks out opportunities to serve students and the school at large. He is a lifelong learner that is constantly improving his teaching pedagogy. Mrs. Jennifer Conway was chosen as the Teacher of the Year for Loudon High School. Mrs. Conway is a cornerstone of Loudon High. She has dedicated the majority of her career to the school, her students, and this community. She takes on new roles to help students succeed. Not to mention, she leads an award winning band year in and year out. Congratulations to Dr. Crowe and Mrs. Conway! We are proud of you!

We hope Mrs. Varner has had a wonderful birthday! She is another excellent science teacher at LHS. She sets enormously high standards and works hard helping her students achieve their best. She is a great role model for the students. We thank Mrs. Varner for all she does, and we wish her a happy birthday!

Happy birthday Mrs. Bunch! Mrs. Bunch has served in many different roles at LHS. She is a vital part of the science department and always finds new ways to support students. In addition, she has a talent for developing creative content. She does amazing work for Loudon athletics and for the school as a whole. We are thankful for her talents at Loudon High School! Happy Birthday Mrs. Bunch!

Congratulations to our monthly recognition winners! Jennifer C. was voted as our Teacher of the Month for all that she does at LHS. She teaches content out of area. She is able to organize students to march in sync while playing an instrument. Recently, her band won 2nd place at the Foothills Classic and received Most Outstanding Color Guard. Jen R. was chosen as the Staff Member of the Month. She is a vital asset and advocates for her students. She is constantly finding ways to help teachers as well. She is a great support for our students. Katie W is one of our Students of the Month. She is a hard worker with a respectful attitude. She is carrying on the good tradition of her family that came before her. Jesse M is our other Student of the Month. When he focuses on a project, he can't be stopped until it is completed. He puts his all into whatever he is doing.

Happy birthday to Mrs. Smith Young! Being a teacher is a calling and Mrs. Smith Young effectively prepares the next generation of teachers. She gets the most out of her students and knows how to empower them so that they will be equipped to lead a classroom. We thank Mrs. Smith Young for her dedication to Loudon High School and wish her a happy birthday!

A very happy birthday to Mrs. Crawford! She is a fantastic teacher of history. In addition, she takes on numerous additional roles, such as Interact Club where she leads students in service initiatives. She is willing to serve in any way to help support students and the community. We wish her a happy birthday!

Happy birthday to Coach Adkins! She is a wonderful English teacher and prepares seniors for life after high school. In addition to her efforts in the classroom, she coaches a little bit of everything, such as cross country and tennis. Thank you for all you do for our students, and happy birthday Coach Adkins!
