Families, We hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Next week begins our Fall End of Course testing. Here are some great steps to be best prepared for testing. -Please make sure all students manually update their computers and shut it down completely over the break. Students should be able to access TestNav on their computer if it is fully up to date. -It is also important that students familiarize themselves with a list of all prohibited items, specifically that not electronic devices besides the student issued computer is allowed in the testing classrooms. A list of all prohibited items can be found on the Tennessee Department of Education website. Engaging in any prohibited behavior will result in a zero and the test invalidated. -Students and staff cannot not access any testing materials that are not theirs, nor shall they review or discuss any of the questions before, during, or after testing. -Students and staff cannot copy, photograph, share, or reproduce any testing materials. -Students and staff must follow all proper testing policies and procedures outlined in the test administration manual. -Students and staff cannot engage in any activity not related to testing while in the test room. This includes no access to phones, smartwatches, AirPods, computer programs or websites. -Any violation of Tennessee testing procedures outlined in the Test Security Manual may result in the exam being invalidated and not scored Best of luck Redskins! If students are not enrolled in one of the state tested courses, they will rotate through their classes and continue working towards mastery in each class.

Peyton Finchum and Lily Rose were selected as TNSTRONG Student Ambassadors from the Health and Wellness Club led by Ellie Sexton and Sarah Kile. Peyton attended the statewide training in Franklin, TN. The TNSTRONG is a youth-led, statewide movement committed to raising awareness of the dangers of tobacco and fighting against the tobacco industry's influence on Tennessee youth. Students who apply and are accepted as ambassadors serve for two years, playing an active role within their communities, counties, and statewide. The Health and Wellness club partners with the Tennessee Department of Health and TVA Credit Union to launch campaigns about Nicotine cessation and suicide prevention.

Today, LOCO Construction had their BXTN building competition . This includes a framing, plumbing, and electrical team that competes against 20 other schools to build a room to print in 5 hours. This year we had an all girls framing team . They took home 3rd place and were highly praised by the judges and other male instructors! They built this room with hammer and nails which would be a challenge for anyone. Only a few teams completed the framework but they were the first team to finish.

We also thank Lieutenant Commander William Jackson who shared with our U.S. History class about his experience with the Hydrogen bomb and his time in the Korean War. Thank you gentlemen for your service and taking time to speak with our students this Veterans Day!
