1. Our middle school students can purchase Greenback T-shirts through their homeroom teacher. The T-shirt features a custom Cherokee logo. Money can be turned into your child’s middle school teacher.

2. We are having lots of students stopping in the clinic throughout the school day without giving notice to their teacher. Our school protocol is for the student or teacher to fill out an online form when needing to see the school nurse. The nurse will then call for that student to come to the clinic. There are privacy concerns that prevent the school nurse from having multiple students in the clinic at the same time. Students should only come to the clinic without notice when taking a scheduled medicine or in the case of an emergency.

3. Parent letters were sent home with students in grades 4 & 5, 6-8, and 9th graders who are in Wellness class this semester, regarding the state of Tennessee’s Family Life classes. 4. Next Monday, September 1, is Labor Day and there is NO SCHOOL that day. School resumes on Tuesday, September 2.

5. Our after-school LAUNCH program will begin after Labor Day. Parents who wish for their child to participate in LAUNCH must return the paperwork by August 27. Again, LAUNCH starts on September 2 from 3:15 until 5 PM Monday-Thursday.

6. Please make your child’s teacher and/or the main office aware if you are changing how your child is getting home in the afternoon. We want to ensure that each child gets where they are supposed to be at the end of the school day.

7. For posted updates to morning and afternoon bus changes, follow the Loudon County Bus Transportation Facebook page. All changes to bus routes and schedules are posted to this page.

8. The high school football team has its home opener this Friday, August 29 v. Cosby. Kick-off is at 7 PM. The high school girls’ soccer team plays at William Blount tomorrow night, and will host Loudon this Thursday, August 28 at 6:30 PM. The middle school football team will travel to Sweetwater on Thursday of this week for a 7:00 kick-off. The high school volleyball team has two away games this week. They play at Harriman tonight, and at Coalfield on Thursday night. Both matches begin at 5:30 PM. Our middle school softball team has two games this week.
